What I’m Doing Now

I TOOK A JOB IN MUMBAI

I started this year with resolving that it will be the year of adventures. I did not know that fate will grant my wish so quickly. After a super crazy Feb & March (dad’s hospitalization, cyber attack on my family etc.) – I got some bad news from my current company and good news from an improbable old colleague simultaneously. I’ll tell here the good news. I’ve accepted a new job and it happens to be in Mumbai. Many things clicked for this to happen. And me being me, I made long lists of pros and cons. But I think what made me take this leap finally was remembering that I only resolved that this year will be the year of adventures. I’m low key scared, but I’m also excited because this will be unknown territory for me. I don’t know whether it’ll be a net good for my life or not, but I do know that I’ll come out of this experience stronger, happier, and hopefully richer 🙂

LEARNING TO EAT – THE RIGHT WAY

I’ve always struggled with being a bit overweight. And it’s not for lack of exercise, it’s mostly due to my Punjabi eating habit, and an unbelievable sweet tooth. I recently decided that instead of focusing too much on weight I want to improve my eating habits. And as I’m learning more about health eating – I’m realizing that it’s not so much about overeating as I thought, it’s more that what I call food and put in my body through the majority of my week – doesn’t actually qualify as food per se. Basically things that I eat a lot of i.e. milk, paneer, sugar, coffee, breads, other highly processed things, super oily and high heat cooked meals, meals from Zomato etc. – all of this doesn’t have that many nutrients or even energy. So I’m learning what food actually should be – whole and plant based. And why it should be eaten in the first place – for energy and nutrition, then for taste.

NEW WRISTWATCH ON THE WAY

I recently hit a big financial milestone. I won’t bore you with the details but this is something I was chasing since a long long time. And now that I’m there it makes me feel extremely grateful and humbled at the same time. Anyway, a good way to commemorate a big success is by rewarding yourself with something you love. And it’s no secret that I love wrist watches. So here I am finally having given myself the green light on purchasing a new watch. I’m still not going to go super expensive but it’ll be something significant. Maybe Japanese, maybe Swiss, hopefully automatic, definitely something that’ll put a smile on my face. And something that’ll remind me that consistency always pays off.

That’s it for this time! Cheers!
